I first tried Nike Run Club (NRC) when I was still doing C25k and was not able to run continuously. It just didn’t click for me and I abandoned it pretty quickly.
Now, as I’m training to speed up my 5k, I find it incredibly helpful. I’m following the 5k plan, which has a mix of speed, recovery, and long runs, all with guided coaching. The coaching really helps to break up the time and make things go quicker.
The plan is customized based on your race date, counts down the weeks, and progressively gets harder. But the best part is that you do not have to think, ‘Oh, I feel good, I’ll do some speed drills‘ or ‘I’m a little stiff, I think I’ll do a recovery run‘. Instead, you do what it says, regardless of how you feel. This makes sure you’re getting a little better every week.
